Journey into Milk Test

As we are truly committing to improving our breeding program and maintaining the diary quality of the breed we have decided to participate in several of the performance programs offered by the breed registry.

This year we start our herd of Nigerian Dwarf goats on standard 20 DHIR milk test with ADGA. This has been a large learning curve for us as we got all the necessary paper work, tester, and lab stuff figured out. However we got it all done and it wasn’t as bad as I thought once you got into it all, now we just wait for spring and babies! I am excited to be able to add this for our herd, plus the data I will get back on milk can be passed to my customers so they know the actual quality of the milk. Here is some info on DHIR for those who may not know what it is.

ADGA DHIR (Dairy Herd Improvement Registry) is a registry involvement with the Dairy Herd Improvement program. The DHI program is a system of statistically measuring a lactation by obtaining monthly or frequently spaced milk weights and sampling the milk for components.

The Ladies are producing again

With warmer weather and longer days, my ladies are starting to lay again. If you would like some Pasture Raised/Free Range, organic, non-gmo, soy and corn free eggs please email or fill out the form below to get on the wait list.  I will be filling orders on a first come first serve basis as my ladies ramp up production. Once your order is ready I will contact you to work out the details on pickup/delivery and payment options.

In other farm news, The 20 new girls will be coming in on March 5th! Be sure to check out our Instagram and Facebook page for cute pictures of baby chicks 🙂

Eggs Currently Unavailable

Sadly my ladies have become free loaders this time of year and we don’t like to force them to lay if their bodies tell them not to. Because of that, at this time I currently do not have any eggs for sale. Please check back this spring when my ladies start full production again or contact me to get on the wait list.

We are adding 20 more girls to our homestead beginning of March 2018 so we will have plenty of eggs to share later in 2018.

Dreaming of spring time…..
